So I was reading the local news website and it seems like some of the local illegal immigrants are bit upset that they are being asked to leave because they are here illegally. If this was not as serious of a situation as it is, I would be laughing right now. But in order to keep this fair and balanced, unlike major media outlets including FOX News I thought I would give them there little speech area as well – So I have included the news video below for you to review before I make my comments.
Okay illegal immigrants, the current unemployment rate in the state of Michigan is 13.7 percent as of April. The truth of the matter is you are here illegally, you are taking jobs away from American Citizens and are draining our economy. The truth is you are not wanted or needed, you work for substandard wages forcing Americans out of jobs. In my opinion you need too….. bah I’ll Bob Barker tell you
Oh and one more thing. How is telling someone who is in our country illegally to leave racial profiling?

It’s racial profiling because the cops can stop *ANYONE* they think *might* be illegal, based on their race. Pretend there’s a rash of illegal Scotsmen in your state, all of which are white just like you; you live in fear of being stopped and feel uncomfortable all the time in a place where you pay taxes and everything else, in a country you love.
Why would anyone think just a certain race is here illegally?
That’s what I’m saying. That’s what the law makes alright: any hispanic person can be stopped at any time and have their immigration papers demanded of them. Anyone who look foreign at all, actually, but it’s specifically against “Mexicans”. It’s profiling, and it’s racial profiling, and that’s what makes it racial profiling.
So what.. if they don’t fucking like it get the fuck out.. go back to where it is you came from… I don’t like fish, so I choose not to eat at Red Lobster..

What if your Hispanic family has been legal in the US since the Mexican War (1848) annexed the Southwest? Just as American as the folks who came through Ellis Island…and predating them, too.
Oh, and there are a number of illegal Irish here, too. Running away from the Troubles. But if they showed at one of my family reunions, I’d never know.

If you’re accusing me of being Hispanic just for defending the rights of legal Hispanics, I certainly find humor in it, but rest assured, I’m very white, and very legal.
The law is wrong because racial profiling is explicitly illegal, and one state should not be allowed to simply disregard that. It’s wrong because of all of those that look possibly Hispanic will be profiled and searched, which will certainly turn into all those that look Hispanic and those that look Middle Eastern, simply for the sake of harassment, if there’s no crime found. Sure, 11 million people are illegal aliens, but as I recall they’re not all Hispanic, and they’re not all in Arizona, though I also realize that being a southwestern state, there’s more of them there.
It’s wrong because once you find out that someone’s done nothing wrong, even though they were searched and made to feel like a criminal when they were not, it comes down to pure harassment. It’s legal to walk up to anyone you want and *demand* papers from them, and when you can’t satisfy an officer of the law’s demands, because you don’t carry around your papers if you’re legal and comfortable in your society, you’re going to be put in jail until your papers are presented, one would assume.
The worst part is that I don’t think any of this is going to be enforced except for by those likely few extremely bigoted police officers who are comfortable stopping someone on the street just for the color of their skin. That’s the worst part, because what all of this really is, is for political gain. Arizona’s governor wants the spotlight, and it’s a lot easier to obtain the spotlight by being a dick than it is to try to improve your state’s situation diplomatically and in a dignified manner, thus shining light upon your hard work. What hard work did it take to legalize racial profiling? They just wanted to be known for something before their time in office was up. It’s disgraceful.
I was an illegal in the USA but not working… and all the illegals I knew sold stuff they made, like food, and worked in restaurants or mowing lawns. I lived off my boyfriend and never worked. I want to become a citizen tho and plan to.
Thanks for sharing that all the illegal aliens you knew took jobs away from hard working American citizens by working in restaurants and lawn care businesses for what was likely less then minimum wage.

Think about why illegal immigrants exist. Why are there so many here, why is it such a big deal, why do they generally come from Mexico and not Canada? Because Mexico has a lousy government and is not giving its citizens nearly as much opportunity as Americans. I agree, it would be very nice if we can get them the *99* out of here, but we could only do that in Utopia. They should of course get naturalized if they want to have any sort of job here in America. If one is going to live and work here, they should be able to speak English. Unless they earn it, they should only take jobs that are not in high demand. But when you think about it, many immigrants do respect America’s jobs and take them very seriously, so they do an excellent job, since this is not their county. I don’t know, I doubt there is really much we can do to send immigrants back to Mexico.
